Columbus undoubtedly has some of the best pizzas, and you may even be surprised at just how many pizzerias exist around the city.
But with many pizzerias comes a problem: knowing which pizzeria you should check first. However, that’s where we intend to help.
Of course, we had so many to choose from, so making a list was difficult. Also, we know that pizza is a very individual thing. Therefore, we suggest you check out every place on our list and try them yourself.
At the end of the day, all it means is you get to try more pizza than you could perhaps imagine, but that’s not a bad thing.
So, with so many to work through, let’s get on with our list, and you can then start checking out the different places for yourself.
Located on N 4th Street, the first place we need to mention is GoreMade Pizza. This place offers rustic pizza on a wood fire to give it that authentic taste.
We do love the array of toppings on offer here as well. It gives you ample opportunity to customize your pizza in any way you want, and they will happily oblige.
Also, a quick word about the crust. It’s fantastic. You instantly know that they have a firm understanding of how to make that crust, and it won’t let you down.
We feel the crust has a real chew and crunch, which adds to the overall experience. They also tend to fire it to perfection; it remains light and has more than enough flavor.
Overall though, it’s the casual nature and fantastic pizza that makes us include this pizza place on our list. We think it rightfully has an amazing reputation, and we know you will love your experience there.
Adriatico’s New York Style Pizza
Located on Neil Avenue, the name says it all regarding the type of pizza this pizzeria produces. So, if you prefer New York-style pie, this establishment must appear near the top of your list.
This pizzeria has delighted the people of Columbus for almost 40 years, and that’s no mean feat when you think of the competition.
It’s all because of the consistent quality of their pizza that has led to them surviving for so long, and we promise you won’t come away disappointed.
The only thing is they don’t sell by the slice. However, they offer an 8” personal pizza, which is certainly small enough if you simply want a snack.
It’s immediately apparent that they only use the freshest ingredients and put a lot of time and effort into developing their crust. This leads to a perfect chew with every pizza, and you have the toppings to deal with.
At Adriatico’s, you never worry about not getting enough toppings on your pizza. They add more than enough, so you probably won’t even have to go ahead and ask for any extras.
Overall, this pizza place delivers repeatedly, and if you like the New York-style approach, you cannot afford to miss this place.
East Coast Pizzeria
Located on N. High Street, East Coast Pizzeria produces some of the best pizzas in the city, and it’s all made in their authentic brick oven.
This leads to an amazing taste in your pizza, and you will quickly find this place becoming one of your favorite pizza haunts.
They stress how they take their time to source the best possible ingredients, resulting in their crust and toppings coming out perfectly.
You cannot doubt that their crust has a wonderful crunch and chew, and the fact it’s oven-fired just adds that extra flavor.
Using premium ingredients makes a huge difference. It also shows their love for pizza and that they want to go that extra step and ensure that only the best of everything is pulled together for the pizza.
A quick word about the atmosphere, though. East Coast Pizzeria has a laid-back setting perfect for families. Also, the quality of the service is outstanding, and they will quickly deal with any issues you may have.
However, we think this place knows what to do regarding pizza, so the chances of you having a horrible experience just won’t exist.
The Pizza House
Located on East Lincoln Avenue, we believe The Pizza House can become one of your new favorite pizzerias if you have never been there.
This diner allows its pizza to speak for itself; they have known everything about pizza since it opened over 60 years ago.
That has given them time to perfect their crust and sauce, and we promise both aspects will blow your mind at the first bite.
They even go as far as to create an Old World pepperoni pizza, and it’s the perfect example of how much flavor they can pack into a single pie.
However, their menu will not disappoint either, and you have more than enough options to work through when choosing your desired toppings.
But it’s not just the pizza that wins here. You will also find all their staff will help you with any issues you may have. In addition, they know their pizza, so you should feel in safe hands.
Overall, you don’t survive as a pizzeria for over 60 years if you don’t know how to make pizza. Generations have visited this place, and we think you should follow suit.
Located on Cleveland Avenue, Pizza Bianca focuses on doing the simple things right, leading to you getting your hands on an impressive pizza.
We think you will love whichever pizza you choose with a crisp and crunchy crust, some flavor added in, and a real tang to the tomato sauce. Also, with a wide-ranging menu, it may be difficult to know where to begin.
This pizzeria even treats its customers like family; such is the welcome you get here. That’s something we do appreciate, and we think you will love their approach as well.
But everything is all about the pizza, and it’s difficult to see you feeling disappointed with what you get. They love what they do, and you will too, as soon as you take your first bite.
Located on Cleveland Avenue, Terita’s Pizza does have over 50 years of experience delivering some of the best pizzas in the city. Once again, we just don’t think a pizzeria offering a poor pie would have the ability to survive that long.
People often talk about the consistency of the crust, and it’s certainly a work of art. It has enough stretch and chews to make it appealing, but they carefully don’t overdo things.
But we also need to mention the crunch that comes with this pizza. It’s extremely satisfying when you bite down; it just tastes as all that experience comes through in the first bite.
However, you cannot dine here; they only offer take-out. Yet we don’t see that as much of a problem simply because what they offer is so good. It’s worth taking it home and enjoying, as the flavors will blow your mind.
Overall, their experience and pizza quality led us to add this place to our list. We feel confident you will enjoy whichever option you choose from their menu.
So that’s our list of the best pizzerias in Columbus, and we do not doubt that you will also love all the pizzas on offer here. Our advice is to simply start at the top of the list and work your way down.
Whether you prefer authentic Italian or even the thinner New York-style pizza, you have something available in Columbus.
But don’t just go with those establishments that have served the people of Columbus for decades. Sure they provide a stunning pizza, but they are just one of several different pizzerias that we think provide an excellent service.
